Panama flights will land in Tocumen International Airport twenty miles outside of Panama City. It is served by Delta, United Airlines, Air Panama, and American Airlines among others. There is an information desk that can help you with any questions or arrangements you might need to make. To get to Panama City, you must rent a car, take a bus, or take a taxi. There are several car rental companies that operate out of the airport. To take the bus, you must leave the terminal and cross the street to the bus station. Taxis operate on set rates and again, the information desk can help you secure a taxi. If you want to get to another destination besides Panama City, you can take a connecting flight to a smaller, domestic airport or take a bus or car to any other city.
Panama has two coasts, one on the Caribbean and one on the Pacific. It also has two seasons, dry and rainy. The Caribbean coasts see rain year round, while the Pacific coast has a dry season. The wet season is considered winter even though the temperatures are still warm and plants are budding. This may be the time book flights to Panama because traditionally there are fewer visitors and the prices are cheaper. Summer is the more popular season for flights to Panama, and the prices are higher, but there is less rain and less chance of being stuck inside.
After your flight to Panama has landed, there are three ways to get around Panama. You can travel by bus, by car, or by taxi. There are two kinds of buses, one that goes from city to city and the metrobus that operates within cities. The highway buses operate out of the terminal in Panama City and follow the Pan American Highway. They are the cheapest way to get from place to place. It will be necessary to get a metrocard to ride. Be aware that driving in Panama City can be a nightmare as there are traffic jams, few signs, and irregular streets. The Pan American Highway is paved, but the quality of the roads is unpredictable.
The Canal is the most famous thing in Panama to most visitors, but there is so much more to the country. Panama flights will take you to any number of attractions and here are some:
