I love this place, such a clever design and use of an existing place. It was formerly a dormitory, so the king bed room was a little tight, but not undoable. I love a hotel that provides a lighted magnifying mirror for these old eyes. The Beekman 1802 bath products are lovely. The bar/restaurant are top notch and were busy whenever we walked through. And the location can't be beat! Love this place!

I have a red meat allergy, and the staff was most accommodating with dinner. The staff also let me know that chicken sausage was available for breakfast. I felt the staff went above and beyond to help me with my meals. Also, I received a text each day of my stay from the staff member who was to care for my room essentials. I almost don't want to give The Slate an excellent review because I want to be able to stay there again and again!! But seriously, our stay was excellent and it's such a unique property - it's fun! Every staff person we encountered was friendly and seemed genuine. Very convenient to the theatre and the Art Museum.
