Upon check in we were told they did not accept credit cards. This is an 18 floor hotel, in a major city, in 2026!!! Not good enough. The compendium also stated they accept cards for payment.
The building has a major moisture problem. Although the room appeared to have been recently renovated, they had failed to paint an area of the roof not easily seen, which had very bad black mould (see image).
The shower off the main bedroom was very bad as it was hard to get it at a comfortable temperature (either too hot or too cold). The other bathrooms shower was better, however, this was over the bath and had no shower curtain so was not really usable.
The kitchen had insufficient utensils, pots and bowls (the staff provide more on request). The kettle was broken, there was no tea towels, and the sponge was very dirty and old.
Two of the four beds (double beds) were hard as rocks, the warddrobes were very musty smelling, and one of the two toilet seats was dirty.
Positives included the views, size of the apartment, free breakfast, the other two king size beds (these were good), having HBO, the helpful doorman, and the location.
All in all, the room was average to good. The mould was the main issue as for longer stays, it's not a healthy environment to be in.
