"I guess this is a big oversight on my part, but when I booked the room, I saw that it had a complimentary breakfast included with our stay and a very nice-looking breakfast area from the pictures. Almost all hotels include a hot breakfast, so I just assumed that is what this hotel also offered. We were disappointed to go down in the morning and only have a cold breakfast (cereal, bagels, yogurt). Again, an oversight on my part, but we were really wanting a hot breakfast with some protein in it, so we went to Cracker Barrel instead. Otherwise, we had no issues with our stay. Staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable."

"2nd floor rooms need significant upgrades. Breakfast same everyday. Powder eggs, sausage, waffles. Bathroom not clean. You have to ask for room cleaning, 24 hours in advance. Stayed 5 days, 2 people and 2 hangers. Asked for more and never delivered."

"Nice hotel. Staff was nice. The hotel is a little dated but our suite was large and spacious. Shower was awkward. The only thing was that that housekeeping didn’t come around until close to 5pm our second day there and we were getting ready to go out for dinner so it did not get cleaned. Having said that, I asked the front desk to please have them clean our room the next day. They came much earlier while we were out and they did a nice job."

"The Elwood was okay for one night. Not sure I'd stay longer than that. Our TV only got a few channels and we weren't able to stream anything despite being told we could. The front desk wasn't helpful when we called with the concern. Our room phone also didn't work to reach the front desk so we had to use our cell phones. The bed was comfortable and the temp in the room was pleasant. The bathroom is tiny but there are some shelves outside the bathroom to store your belongings. Water pressure wasn't good in the sink but the shower was okay. We tried the restaurant on site for brunch. It was tasty and the ambience was good. Liked the outside area with ceramic fire places. Overall it's one of the better places I've stayed in Lexington but in general it's nothing over the top. It's a good safe place to stay for a night."

"This was a pretty standard hotel. If I pass through the area again, I would choose something nicer, if I could find a better hotel within our price range. The room was clean and pretty standard. The fridge barely worked. We should have left our food in our cooler - our cooler kept it colder. There was a very small microwave that was dripping wet and reeked of fish. The pool was nice! Breakfast was standard - waffles, very sugary cereal, sugary pre-packaged baked goods and oatmeal, biscuits and gravy, omelets. Heads up for those with food allergies/intolerances, there are no milk alternatives, gluten free options, little to no whole foods. Staff was very kind, however, and our stay was okay, just nothing special."
