Highlights include the magical and romantic Lantern Room restaurant on the fourth floor, complete with a cozy wood-burning fireplace, and the stunning glass-walled lobby with a massive fireplace overlooking the ocean. The modern bar and the unique self-service wine machine—where you can pour one or two glasses daily as part of the resort fee—add a fun and upscale touch. The nightly “marshmallow box” treat is a 10/10, especially thanks to the high-quality chocolate. Dining at the Lantern Room (breakfast and dinner at additional cost) is a must, especially for the breads and pastries sourced from a well-known local bakery in downtown Monterey. The beachfront rooms are worth it—especially on upper floors for safety and views.
