Men drinking beer on the curb & another man passing them out to people sitting by the front door. Walked into a 62 degree room. Exhausted from a 10 hour drive and expecting to spend 5 days at the Grand Cherokee, I pulled down the extremely thin bed cover to find hairs on the sheet & pillowcase. We told Tiberius at the front desk. He had to leave the desk to bring us fresh linens and put them on the bed. The fitted sheets didn't fully cover the mattress as they were too small. The coverlet on the bed had no blanket or comforter with outside temps below 50. I went back downstairs and asked Tiberius for a blanket for each bed. He gave me a blanket filled with holes big enough to stick my fingers through. There was a stinky, heavily perfumed carpet that gave us a headache and stuffy noses by morning. We asked to be released from the reservation, and I had to contact Expedia who had rated the Grand Cherokee at - I believe - 8.4. To add insult to injury - though the desk manager was nice and helped cancel it, we were still charged $119.00, and the elevator broke as we were leaving and my husband of 81 and me 77, had to walked down concrete stairs carrying suitcases, etc. To his credit, the desk manager did help carry one of the bags down. We should not have been charged. Also, we had to spend the next 2 two of our vacations trying to find any place to stay due to parades, festivals, autumn leave visitors, and the UT football game at Knoxville. Our whole vacation was ruined.
