Disappointing

Walls were paper thin so we could hear everything happening next door, windows didn't close properly so no sound proofing from the traffic of the road despite paying for a "tree line" room. Room was okay, nothing special especially at the price. Room service was excellent however with really tasty food. Facilities are excellent but you go to a hotel to sleep and we couldn't really do that with all the noise. From the room we were in, I wouldn't class this as a four star hotel. When we mentioned the issues, hotel staff said we should have said something during the night. What are they going to do? Come to the room and install soundproofing? Turn up at 2am with screwdrivers to fix the window? That's a blanket response to shift responsibility onto the guest because I'll guarantee despite us saying about the window nobody will have been sent to fix it before the next guest stayed in the room.

Bartender spilled my cocktail didn't offer to remake or top up. Bathroom tap so stiff that you had to use force so then water went every wear. Breakfast was cold so had to ask for a freshly made item.

Very nice but take earplugs.

The hotel was lovely and clean, with a spacious room and bathroom. The pubs/clubs are right next door and will keep you awake unless you are joining them of course or have earplugs ! I would have joined them but had to be up early unfortunately, they were having a great time ! A bit of a Karen comment ... but would have been nice to have had a sachet of hot chocolate, along with all the herbal tea and coffee when I was losing the will to live in the early hours. Sorry to be negative and if I was out partying myself then I would stay again for sure.

Total stay experience was wonderful. The staff is exceptionally helpful and accommodating. The hotel location is central to and walkable for everything (castle, shopping, restaurants, etc), plus is clean and well maintained. The room is easily accessible, comfortable, and located within the hotel for a quiet stay.

First time at this hotel...rooms were spacious..comfortable. The Staff when stumbling in at 1 am...were wonderful...sorted out fabulous food for room service... Breakfast delicious But they couldnt cure my hangover..had to do that myself
