"Great location and staff. Spacious room but pretty scruffy. I’d stayed in an Abode (Exeter?) years ago and it was a real treat, absolutely lovely. But sadly this felt quite run down. The decor was really naff in the room and bar. 3 star maybe, but definitely not 4. If I stayed again, I’d go for a better room. It could be so nice, really hope it gets the refresh it deserves."

"Sanjeewa was very accommodating and friendly a wonderful host. This is a very basic hotel but you cannot fault it, clean and has everything you need, a great option for an affordable city break. Breakfast was a bonus and had a good little selection. The location is fantastic!!!!! Already booked again 👍"

"This hotel location is great, only a short 10 minute walk into Canterbury, and access main roads easily. The breakfasts are very good, fresh and with a wide choice to pick at. The restaurant is well set out, comfortable and very appealing. The menu has a good choice of meals, not too extensive, making choosing easier, and a brilliant dessert list, 😋 We ate here both nights and no complaints what so ever about any of it. 👌 Good bar, nice choice of drinks with comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. The rooms are very clean and tidy, with all you need, and tea facilities. All the staff were brilliant, polite, helpful and attentive. Nothing was too much for them. Good sized car park at the rear. Would recommend the Victoria and look forward to returning there."

All the staff are very friendly and welcoming and go out of their way to help and make your stay an unforgettable experience! Rob, the owner personally offers you the delicious breakfast that you can enjoy while having the most beautiful view to the bustling main street. Do not hesitate to book your stay at Cathedral Gate"
