"We really enjoyed our stay at Abode Canterbury. It is in an excellent location, right in the center of the old town, just across from the Cathedral. My room was clean, the bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The only complaint I have is that the "included" breakfast was just dry cereal and fruit plus toast, oatmeal or a croissant. All carbs. It would have been nice to have had yogurt or something that offered a little protein. Otherwise it is a really nice place to stay."

"An Absolute Gem in Margate! We recently stayed at The Beetroot for one night and thoroughly enjoyed every moment of our stay. The location is perfect – exceptionally well positioned, easy to find, and an ideal base for exploring Margate and the Old Town. The property itself is beautiful, with each room thoughtfully styled to have its own unique character. We also loved the quirky, creative touches throughout the outdoor spaces. Our room was incredibly comfortable, and we slept soundly after a fantastic afternoon and evening exploring Margate’s many bars and restaurants – there’s so much to choose from. A particularly thoughtful touch was the selection of four different loose-leaf tea blends available in the room. The Chai blend was especially delicious and became my favourite. The attention to detail continued into the bathroom, with fluffy white towels, wonderful Haeckels shower gel and shampoo, and a lovely invigorating shower. What truly makes this place special, however, is the hospitality. Paul, the owner, is an absolute delight – warm, friendly, and genuinely lovely to chat with. He has created something really special here, and his welcoming energy added so much to our stay. A truly wonderful place to stay, full of thoughtful local touches and charm. We couldn’t recommend it highly enough. ❤️ 5/5 – we’ll definitely be back!"

"Hotel as you enter is lovely, a cosy vibe and friendly welcome from staff. Lots of seating area for drinks by the bar. We stayed in a junior suite which was decorated lovely, bathroom was great with robes and nice soaps (only thing I’d recommend changing is the floor in bathroom which looked oddly cheap compared to everything else). Lovely tea and coffee facilities with biscuits is a nice addition for when you get back from a day out. Happy hour with complimentary cheese and biscuits is a fab idea and the espresso martinis were nice. Only downsides that took the shine off things, one was the TV didn’t have apps or phone casting even though it said it had both it’s not actually set up and we’d plan to come back early and watch a film on Netflix so that was a shame. Then I slept terribly as the walls were so thin (room 57) and I could hear the man next door or below, unsure which, snore all night so I barely slept then when I did I was woke up early by the same people at 6.45am getting up for their day talking!! You really need to sound proof the room properly that’s not ok. And if you can’t sound proof you need to provide good ear plugs and a white noise machine. Overall lovely just the edge taken off by not sleeping."
