The hotel was fine for a short stay—simple and convenient. The biggest downside was the room itself: no exterior windows, only ones facing the corridor. Most rooms seem to be windowless, so there’s no natural light, which can feel a bit claustrophobic. At check-in, we were surprised by an additional $250 in charges: $150 was a refundable damage deposit, but another $100 was for mandatory fees like WiFi and breakfast—which we didn’t use. These costs aren’t included in the room price, so be aware of the extra charges. On the positive side, the location is excellent. The tram/train stop is right outside, and being near Boston College gives the area a lively and safe feel. The lobby is a nice space to escape the room, with free water, tea, coffee, microwaves, and plenty of seating. Overall, this isn’t a romantic or relaxing hotel, but it works well for business trips or quick stopovers.

The hotel appeared nice overall, but despite being set to a low temperature, the HVAC system in my room was blowing warm humid air all night which made it very uncomfortable and very difficult to sleep. The continental breakfast was also very limited.

Not what we expected.

I was taken aback at the lack of knowledge of the Boston area. I have always found hotel staff very help with tips of where to got and what to see. As for the room we did not pick low end budget and I would say a room with no windows, no night lights and noisy carts at 2 am is just that. Lobby is beautiful and always clean. I can’t comment on the continental breakfast.

I was upset that when I got to the hotel they wasn’t very friendly and I was told very sternly to the point that I could pay an extra $30 to get into my room earlier. I then was told once I arrived back to the hotel that they would be charging us a extra $200 dollars for a “facility fee” which then I questioned what did this cover and the reason for the fee. Where they went on to tell me it was for wifi gym and breakfast. When I purchased this arrangement through Expedia it clearly states on the purchase free wifi continental breakfast included and access to gym. The rooms where also advertised as having windows to the outdoors but to my suprise they wasn’t. I was not happy with the overall the experience

The wifi and cell phone was terrible - no service at all in the most places inside. It was so annoying to call out or receive calls. The room had a window looking into the hallway - it made you feel boxed inside. Terrible design. I would not go recommend staying at this establishment.

Was quite the concept was unique as far as the rooms. The restroom had a sulfur smell to it when I walked in the first time and the toilet seat was loose felt like I was going to fall off. The temperature was a bit off too would get cool then warm all of a sudden. The bed was comfortable

We stayed here before and had an excellent experience, but this trip was the exact opposite. From the start, the service was unacceptable. We arrived around 11:30pm after a long flight. No one was at the front desk. A security guard sat at the bar on his phone the entire time, ignoring us while we stood there for nearly 10 minutes. Knocking on the office door got no response. Calling the hotel only gave us an automated menu. When I finally opened the office door and called out, the guard jumped up—not to help, but to yell at me for “not being patient.” Completely unprofessional. Only then did the desk clerk finally appear. By the time we got to our room, it was almost midnight. We opened the sofa bed for our son only to find zero sheets. Called the front desk and were told they’d be “right down.” Thirty minutes later, still nothing. Called again—same promise. Ten minutes after that, sheets finally arrived. Nearly 1am before we could even go to sleep. The rest of the stay was uneventful, but the damage was done. No accountability and service that felt like no one cared. Our first stay here was great. This one was a disaster. Until they fix serious issues with staffing, professionalism, and basic guest service, I can’t recommend this hotel.

I booked 5 nights at The Arcadian back in January for a stay this September. The reason for booking was based on the price, I was looking for as cheap as I could go basically. After booking I started reading the reviews on various sites and was really worried to be honest. The hotel was getting a lot of awful reviews. Mainly about the breakfast, the charges, the rooms being strange with no windows. I looked around for alternatives as I was so concerned but could not afford anything else. After staying there this last week I can honestly say I am so glad I kept the booking, ignored the reviews and stayed at the Arcadian. Reasons we loved it: Number one has to be the proximity of the St Paul Street T stop. This is right across the road from the entrance. So convenient for getting to and from the city, or Fenway Park after an evening game. It’s also walkable to Fenway if you are able bodied and the area was a lovely walk, didn’t feel unsafe at all. The room was lovely with a very comfortable large bed. We did have an internal room, the window looked out into the corridor. So what? It was just like staying in a motel with parking outside. It didn’t bother us one bit. We had read of lot of criticism of the breakfast but we found it to be more than adequate for us. 4 choices of cereal, different breads and muffins, fresh bananas and apples, juices, tea and coffee, hard boiled eggs, cheeses and meats. Tea and coffee was kept hot in the breakfast room for taking all day long.

Excellent location, walkable to plenty of stores, restaurants, things to do, and public transportation. Service was great. Room was clean but showing wear and tear. I didn't realize we were getting an interior room with no natural light, so it was pretty dark all the time.
