"The recent remodeling of the dining room (now with full bar area) in this historic Southern grand hotel is outstanding. All the original historic Appalachian charm remains. Guest rooms and public spaces are showcases for hand crafted furnishings, linens, and art all in the traditional Colonial style. Staff are warm, efficient, and accommodating. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner menus feature classic Southern specialties, with innovative variations. Rooms are a bit small, but comfortable and quiet. Amenities are excellent. I love everything about the place and plan to return soon!"

"This was our first time staying at this establishment. We were greeted by friendly staff at the desk who were very informative of things to do and places to eat in the area including the restaurant on site. The room was comfortable and clean. The air conditioner worked very well. We went for breakfast to the restaurant not a huge breakfast menu but enough that you will be able to find something very basic menu. There was a continental breakfast provided free of charge if you just want something quick like a muffin or toast. We were happy to see that there were smart TVs included in the room which is always nice. The dinner menu looked very good however we had reservations made elsewhere and we're only here for two nights. Would definitely come back again."
