Loved the room. Employees are very friendly. We especially enjoyed out host and tour guide, Rainy Day. She was wonderful. The food at the restaurant is definitely a must and well worth the price!!
I am completely satisfied with our stay at The Myrtles it was extremely phenomenal!!! The rooms are extremely beautiful. The staff was so accommodating!!! I didn't want to leave. And to reserve a room was really easy. They book up quickly so I suggest if you want to stay there you need to reserve your room at least 1 month in advance. I was extremely shocked when I booked our rooms i got in so quickly it is so worth going there i recommend you guys to go to The Myrtles!!!!!!
It’s a unique bed and breakfast. Not a haunted house like most Louisianans grow up to believe. If you’ve been dreaming of spending the night in an old, spooky plantation surrounded by eeriness and mystery, you will be very bored. It has become just a place to stay in a boring town-featuring chickens, expensive food, and a sort of interesting history lesson.
The property has been far too modernized and the charm that draws most people in has been replaced with pretension. And when you’re finally bored to sleep, you’ll be lucky if the people staying in the rooms next to you aren’t being too loud and obnoxious for you to do so.
Maybe my expectations were outdated but I know many people who had the same idea.
The Myrtle's is an amazing place to stay for a week or even a weekend when in New Orleans.
If you like the scary adventure it's a must but also if you love the peace and quiet of your vacation.
The Myrtle's offer something for every type of people and it's a lovely place to stay.
While a history tour is included, be sure to spring for the evening tour. You may even encounter some resident spirits. My daughter heard children giggling outside the William Winter room.
There was a problem with the A/C in our cabin so the manager upgraded us at no extra charge. They made sure we were completely satisfied. Excellent staff and beautiful grounds.
Beautiful grounds. Cabins were perfect and in walking distance to restaurant and gift shop. The tour guide was fantastic, we went in the mystery tour at night and a tour during the day. Very tranquil atmosphere.
Fun experience @ historical residence and plantation. Included was a fascinating tour of the house replete with some original furniture dating to 1796. Well worth a visit and the tour even if you choose not to stay. There are other accommodations available on the property if you are not keen on a room in a room in the 'haunted' house.
