Sound-front Yalcrab is back! Think bigger and better on one of the most primo sound-front lots in Avon. Enjoy grassy rigging, board racks, sail storage, outdoor showers, a dressing room, and an unsurpassed windsurfer's launch with wind exposure to die for. Filet your freshly caught fish at Yalcrab's new fish-cleaning station. The 50-foot sound-front deck offers spectacular 'liquid sky' sunsets. A large wrap-around deck and a covered porch keep you protected from the elements. An expanded mid-level deck has a six-person hot tub, where you can relax and watch more sunsets. Updates for 2024 include all brand-new kitchen appliances.

The entry level includes a large bedroom with a queen-size bed, a futon, a flatscreen TV, a DVD player, and a full bath - it's a great, private area. On the main level, Yalcrab is all eyes to the water. Lofty cathedral ceilings, stylish and comfortable furniture, and an entertainment center will keep your guests happy during those rare indoor moments. The large kitchen, completely outfitted with updated high-end appliances, includes a breakfast bar and a dining area to inspire the designated home chef. Two bedrooms on the main level have access to a hallway bathroom, while the master has a private bathroom.

Great spot for windsurfing!

Spent Thanksgiving week windsurfing - the sound in front of the house is perfect for windsurfing, you can stand on sandy bottom for at least a mile away from the shore, though there are some deeper spots (there is depth map on the wall on the first floor) and a tide can add a foot to the depth. You may want to bring weed fin, though we managed even foiling with a short 60cm mast. The outside spa-whirlpool is great after windsurfing cold waters (water in the sound was between 47 to 55F), that is the reason we booked this house instead of the next one without that option. The house is clean and adequate size for 4 adults and 3 kids, great sunset view. On the negative - they turned off outside showers and water hoses (winterizing) even though it was far from freezing (temps between 50-65F), so there was no way to wash out sand after windsurfing and that makes extra mess in the house. There was, however, one outside outlet that was still operational (next to the whirlpool), but you may need to get a hose to wash your windsurf gear before packing. Also it would be nice to keep some essentials in the kitchen, such as salt/sugar, and also dedicated tools for the grill.

Gorgeous view but not the cleanest

The view was amazing. The water access was pretty great & the house was definitely comfortable for the 6 adults who stayed. The fridge took about 2 days to stay cold. We were worried about the hundreds of dollars in groceries. For cost of these rentals, updating the necessary appliances doesn’t seem too much to ask. The cleanliness left quite a bit to be desired. At first glance was ok. Upon a little closer inspection, it wasn’t great. I do have pictures of my complaints. There was a large layer of dust around the tv stand in the living room. I get it, you’re on the water but there are rainy days you have to stay inside. Dust at least once a month!! The inside of the fridge was dirty. There was black mold inside all three indoor showers. As well as human waste remains under the toilet seat in one of the upstairs bathrooms from the previous vacationers. That is UNACCEPTABLE!! Why is there a cleaning fee, a wait for a 5 o’clock check in to do this “cleaning” & the expectation of a tip by the cleaning staff if things aren’t actually going to be clean?! A little dirt on the floors, who cares? That’s the beach. The other stuff needs to be clean.
