Building needs to be renovated; there was a lizard in the bathroom when I got there: the sheets on the bed were stained; the equipment in the fitness center did not work; there were no towels or water in the fitness center

The a.c. leaked and the whole area under it was soaked in the a.m. definitely needs to be replaced so it doesnt cause mold. Other than that and the smell of old cigarette smoke, maybe...the staff was incredibly kind and helpful.

Literally, my worst hotel stay ever. Mold in the bathroom, drain couldn't keep up with shower so by the end you are standing in several inches of water, phone didn't work, several outlets didn't work, clock radio couldn't be adjusted, wifi didn't work at all, the conditioner bottle in the shower was empty, had to go get the do-not-disturb placard, and staff was not helpful/ overworked.

So So Hotel

This is the 2nd time we have stayed at a Sleep Inn, the first time was in Shreveport Louisiana a few years back, we had a really good experience. The Sleep Inn in Abilene was just so so. Yes the room was clean, the shower was huge and good water pressure. The bed was very lumpy and not that comfortable, the toilet didn’t flush 1/2 the time, you would have to wait for it to fill up and hope it would flush when you pushed the handle down after it finished filling up. They advertise WiFi and it never did work and the lady at the front desk didn’t seem to really care, she said she called her manager, but didn’t know what to do. I told her to reboot the router, but she said that would screw everything up. There is no close restaurants you have to drive round trip 30 minutes to get something to eat ( of course not the hotel’s fault). Only 2 vending machines and not on the same floor drinks on 1 snacks on another. For some reason they have already closed the pool for the season. What!!! we are in Texas and it is only September here in Texas you can swim till the middle of October. Most likely I would choose another hotel the next time we need a room in Abilene.

Clean Room

I read some bad reviews about cleanliness so when I got there to check in I asked if I could see the room first. The front desk clerk was very nice and showed me my room. It was a little dated and had a slight musty smell (it had been raining all afternoon) but the room/bed/bathroom were very clean. We stayed the night and got a great nights sleep! Overall just fine for an overnight travel stop!

Smells, Mold, & Dirty

The check-in was easy. No complaints there. But the room and building smells terrible and is super dirty. I really think there was mold in the room we stayed in. It was so humid and hard to breath in there. Everything was dirty and i mean you could see the dirt. I think if you have kids stay clear from this hotel.

It was price friendly and definitely a place for traveling workers as there were many staying there. It just was not a good fit for a solo mom and daughter, a little noisy, and a little worn out in the bathroom.
