A dynamic talent igniting the bluegrass scene
Growing up in Illinois, Alison Krauss got involved in music as a child. After discovering her affinity for bluegrass, she started winning competitions and gaining recognition as a prodigy. When she was just a teenager, she released her debut album, Too Late to Cry. Following that, Alison Krauss created Two Highways with Union Station, a band that she had started performing with when she was just twelve and would continue to collaborate with throughout her career. I've Got That Old Feeling snagged her a Grammy Award – the first of over two dozen. In 1993 she was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry. Credited with helping bring back bluegrass to popularity, Alison Krauss's legacy spreads out from country and bluegrass to mainstream pop culture. Her work has been featured in TV shows and movies like O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Mona Lisa Smile, and Cold Mountain.
