From Story to Stage

Lin-Manuel Miranda came across Alexander Hamilton’s biography and was inspired to write a musical. This show follows the Founding Father’s life with numerous significant events. After immigrating from the West Indies, he came to New York in 1776. He worked closely with George Washington during the Revolutionary War and eventually became the nation’s first Treasury Secretary. Lin managed to present his life story through modern song and dance. Genres such as hip hop, jazz, rap, pop, and R&B are incorporated into this lively show. After having a sold-out debut at The Public Theater in 2015, the popularity of this show spread like wildfire. Not only did it come to the Richard Rodgers Theatre on Broadway shortly after its opening, there have also been numerous tours popping up all over the country.
