Alexander Hamilton was an immigrant from the West Indies. After coming to the United States, he became a Founding Father as well as the nation’s first Treasury Secretary. His life story was more interesting than one would expect, which is what inspired Lin-Manuel Miranda to write this musical. Through modern song and dance, his story has been shared with the world. Genres such as hip hop, rap, blues, R&B, and pop were included with the infusion of culture. After it’s successful debut in 2015 at The Public Theater, this show has been hot ever since. Hamilton came to the Tennessee Performing Arts Center beginning on December 31^st, 2019 and ran through January 19^th, 2020.
