The Vision

After learning about founding father Alexander Hamilton’s interesting life, Lin-Manuel Miranda knew his story had to be shared with the world. The politician had an intricate lifestyle, which inspired Lin to tell his story through various genres of music in one musical. Hip hop, rap, soul, pop, and more were all incorporated into this story. In February 2015, this musical made its Off-Broadway debut at The Public Theatre. The show was sold out and has been extremely successful ever since with numerous tours in various cities. And if ticket sales weren’t enough, in 2016 Hamilton earned a record- breaking 16 Tony nominations, winning 11. This unique show is set apart from a combination of its diversity in music, casting, as well as the strong incorporation of culture.
