About Edwin McCain

Edwin McCain is one of the best-known American singers and songwriters of the 1990s and early 2000s. He is known for his unique style and the inspirational nature of the concerts, songs, and lyrics. He is known for two separate major hits. The first was titled "I'll Be" and was released in 1998. The second was titled "I Could Not Ask for More" and was released in 1999. Both of these songs were ranked in the top-40 during their stay on the Billboard charts. Furthermore, he has also released five albums that have charted on the Billboard Top 200. Edwin McCain continues to perform to this day and is going on tour again in 2019, giving many the opportunity to hear him perform live.

A History of Edwin McCain

McCain attended school in Greenville, South Carolina as a child. He graduated from Christ Church Episcopal School prior to attending the College of Charleston and Coastal Carolina University. He spent his early career touring with Darius Rucker and Hootie and the Blowfish, with whom he is good friends. He signed with their record label, Atlantic Records. In 1994, he put out his first major album, titled Honor Among Thieves. His second album spawned the first of his two major singles, "I'll Be." McCain continued to record and release several other albums. A short time later, he released a subsequent album that contained his second signature hit, titled “I Could Not Ask for More.” This second single quickly shot up the charts, peaking in the top-40. Now, McCain spends his time touring and performing for large crowds all over the country.
