Flight times are usually three-and-a-half hours to Phoenix Sky Harbor International (PHX) Airport, located only about three miles from the downtown area. Consider using shuttles, taxis or even renting a car to help you get around.
Get a great picture of life in the desert at The Desert Botanical Garden. Here you can check out some of the local cacti along with other plants that are hardy enough to stand up to the heat of Phoenix. If the weather permits, put on your hiking shoes and head up Camelback Mountain. Trails can be chosen based on skill level and those that make it to the top are rewarded with beautiful views of Scottsdale. In the middle of the day, stop by the Musical Instrument Museum. Sometimes performances are scheduled, and you can always check out a large collection of musical instruments from around the world.
