Seattle/Tacoma International (SEA) is located about 13 miles south of Seattle, on the route to Tacoma. The Airport Expressway can be reached via Washington State Route 518 or the Pacific Highway. Flights to Reykjavik Keflavik International (KEF) generally require one or two layovers, so flights usually last for 14 hours or more. A nonstop flight, when available, is around seven hours and 15 minutes. Once in Iceland, you can reach your destination via the Flybus, or airport shuttle located just outside the airport.
The capital of Iceland offers many cultural and historical points of interest. Visit Hallgrimskirkja, Perlan, Harpa, Landakotskirkja and Vioey, or tour the Sun Voyager, the National Museum of Iceland, the Icelandic Phallological Museum, or the National Gallery of Iceland. You may also want to take a bus tour to see all the hidden gems.
Reykjavik has cool temperatures year-round thanks to its subarctic, maritime climate. Summers are mild and sunny, and autumns are cool and wet. Winters can be quite chilly and dark, though they make way for bright, dry springs. Since Reykjavik has four distinct seasons, it's best to pack accordingly. Travelers often book one of the apartment-style hotels in the city, which offer homey living options similar to many European-style flats. Traditional hotels near major points of interest are also available.
