Travel the 101 to get to San Francisco International (SFO). Once you get there, select a parking lot to suit your budget and drop your car before hustling to the terminal. Stick a novel in your bag, as flight times are usually just over four hours. Upon landing at Morelia (MLM), pick up a rental car from one of the many companies operating out of the airport.
Marvel at the architecture at the Aqueduct. Built in 1785, this 6,000-foot-long structure features 253 arches. For another historically relevant structure, tour the Palace of Justice, an impressive building that was originally erected as a town hall. For a calm, sacred stop, visit the Guadalupe Sanctuary. End your visit by taking advantage of the beautiful Morelia weather at Nexpa Beach. This beach isn't as pristine and sandy as ones you may find elsewhere, but it is calm and tourist-light, making up for any shortcomings.
If you want to be able to walk to shops and restaurants, stay in downtown Morelia. For a coastal experience, select a hotel on Nexpa beach. Morelia is warm 12-months a year, though temperatures do dip around ten degrees in the winter months, so you can expect temperatures ranging from the mid-80s to the mid-70s regardless of when you go. For the warmest weather, visit April through June.
