It contains numerous gardens, greenspace, museums and historical buildings of the Spanish-Mexican architectural style. Sea World is one of the main attractions here, situated along the waterfront, and enjoyable for everyone in the family. The San Diego Zoo is one of the best in the world, featuring highly natural enclosure settings for its animals, which include some exotic species like pandas. The Gaslamp Quarter is a national historic district featuring some fully restored 19th and 20th century Victorian buildings. Seaport Village is right along the waterfront and is loaded with shops and restaurants in a very picturesque setting.

Summers do not get extraordinarily hot in San Diego, averaging only in the low 70s, and winters do not get very cold, with 50s being the norm each month. Rainfall is very sparse during the year, accumulating only about 12 inches or so each year.
