Newark is New Jersey's largest city and cultural center. There, you will find the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, which is one of the largest performing arts centers in the country. The Newark Museum hosts a large collection of American and Tibetan artifacts, a sculpture garden, and the Ballantine House, which is a gallery inside of an old Victorian mansion. The Cathedral Basilica of the Sacred Heart is also a favorite among visitors to Newark.
From Newark, you can easily drive to several northern New Jersey attractions. You can see the New Jersey Devils play at the Prudential Center, or enjoy a concert, ice show or even circus act there. The New York Jets and Giants play at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, which is located just outside the heart of the city. The Red Bull Arena is close by in Harrison, and the Liberty Science Center, which has the nation's largest IMAX Dome Theater, is in Jersey City.
The flight from Orlando International Airport (MCO) to Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is more than two hours long. Once you arrive at Newark Liberty, you can take the AirTrain to pick up your rental car. Newark is a 30-minute drive from New York City on the New Jersey Turnpike and Interstate 78. You can also drive to Atlantic City, which is a two-hour drive from Newark on the Garden State Parkway.
