Located at the end of Interstate 678, New York John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) is the 17th busiest hub in the world. It’s accessible via subway or bus with transfer to the AirTrain, which takes you directly to your terminal.

From JFK you will take an 11-hour flight across the Atlantic Ocean to the Berlin Tegel Airport (TXL). Upon arrival, you can hop on the E26 or head into Berlin via bus or private car.

Attractions

Built in the neoclassical architectural style, the Brandenburg Gate was erected as the entrance to the city in 1791. The 19th century Reichstag building was the home of Germany’s Parliament from 1894 to 1933.

Elsewhere, you can also visit Checkpoint Charlie, one of the crossing points of the Berlin Wall, and the remnants of the Wall itself.

The city of Berlin has cold winters, but the summers are mild. The average low in the city tends to be around 29 degrees Fahrenheit, and Berlin’s hottest months, July and August, usually average around 75 degrees.

You’ll find accommodation throughout the city that is specific to your budget. Mitte, for example, is a “New Berlin” type of neighborhood and Old Town a very historic district, which will affect the price you pay.
