If you are not driving to New York La Guardia (LGA) Airport consider opting for the Long Island Rail Road or the New York Subway system to get you to the AirTrain station. From there, the AirTrain will take you directly to the airport. Flight times are usually two-and-a-half hours to Memphis International (MEM) Airport. Public buses, taxis and shuttles as well as rental cars can get you into Memphis.

Music is an important part of the history of Memphis. You cannot come to Memphis without taking the tour of Graceland, the second most visited home in the United States. There are multiple attractions and tours to take while on the property. The Stax Museum of American Soul Music is less than five miles away and is home to much memorabilia; however, it does host seasonal hours so check before your visit. The National Civil Rights Museum Lorraine Hotel is an iconic part of the history of Memphis as the location where Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated.

Spring (April and May) as well as fall (October and November) tend to be great times to visit Memphis. Most people make their way to Memphis during the summertime despite the high heat and humidity. In the winter, temperatures drop considerably, and precipitation is common throughout the season.
