When you're flying from Miami International Airport (MIA) to Jorge Chávez International Airport (LIM), you're heading to a place rich in cultural wonders. When you arrive, you'll be able to grab something to eat, or do some shopping before even leaving the airport. Whether here on business, or for a romantic vacation; the airport is the best place to get a rental car, in order to make the most of your trip.
The Plaza de Armas is one of the first places you'll want to visit. See the Government Palace that the president calls home. To get a feel for the area's rich heritage, take a tour of the Cathedral and spend time in the museum.
You will also want to visit the Peruvian House of literature for a greater appreciation of the country's culture, and be sure to set aside some time for the Larco Museum. The collection includes ceramic, metal and textile items that date back as far as 3,000 years.
As an old city originally settled centuries ago, Lima has several unique districts rather than a central historic district. Many of the top attractions are on squares, giving you access to several shops, restaurants like Central Restaurante, as well as nightlife hot spots.
