There are numerous daily flights operating between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and Licenciado Gustavo Díaz Ordaz International Airport (PVR). This trip has become quite popular because of the many activities offered to visitors.
Picking up a rental car at the airport will allow you the freedom to explore the area's many beaches such as Playa Camarones, and points of historic interest in surrounding traditional Mexican villages. Alternatively visitors can take a day-trip to visit the nearby Sierra Madre Mountains and its famous rainforests.
Vallarta is one of the most rapidly growing cities in Mexico. Prior to the 1970s, there existed only two large, luxury hotels in the area. There are now more than 40 four-star and five-star accommodations. Travelers will find the main hotel district is in the north end of the city.
Central to the city you'll find The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, named after Mexico's patron saint. This is in Vallarta’s Old Town section, with its quaint white stucco buildings and cobblestone streets. You'll find whale watching nearby, and you can swim with the dolphins at the areas beaches.
Total flight time from LAX to PVR is just under three hours. Once you arrive, find your way to baggage claim and be ready to explore this wondrous jewel.
