The main terminal building at Lambert-St. Louis Airport (STL) is a fine example of modern architecture that visitors from L.A. may appreciate. St. Louis and its attractions are spread out, so it is good idea for visitors to arrange a rental car to get around.
This city boasts one of the nation's top zoos, and admission to the venue is free. The Saint Louis Art Museum, the Gateway Arch and the Saint Louis Science Center are just a few of the attractions worth a visit. St. Louis also offers beautiful, natural sites such as the Missouri Botanical Garden, perfect for relaxing after your flight.
Several highways transect St. Louis and its metropolitan area. Interstate 70 travels east and west to downtown, through the north part of the city and across the Mississippi. Interstates 64 and 44 are also useful east and west routes through St. Louis. Interstate 55 is the major north and south thoroughfare, and Interstate 270 conveniently loops around the western suburbs of the city.
Flying between Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and STL on a non-stop flight will take approximately four hours. At one time, St. Louis was one of largest cities in the United States. It played host to the Olympic Games and the World Fair in 1904.
