About National Symphony Orchestra
The National Symphony Orchestra is one of the most storied music groups of all time. It was founded back in 1931 and typically performs at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. While this is the chief performing location, it has had scattered performances at other locations over the years. The National Symphony Orchestra is also the official orchestra for two separate large government events including the National Memorial Day Concert and A Capitol Fourth. The current director of the National Symphony Orchestra is Gianandrea Noseda. As one of the most well-respected musical groups in the world, its performers are all world-class and their performances are not to be missed. Fortunately, there are tickets available and the general public will have the chance to hear them play.
A History of the National Symphony Orchestra
The National Symphony Orchestra was founded back in 1931 in Washington, D.C. During its initial period, the National Symphony Orchestra performed in the Constitution Hall and was directed by Hans Kindler. Over the next few decades, the National Symphony Orchestra grew larger and they made several recordings of varied pieces. They even recorded the complete ballet music from the opera titled King Henry VIII. The National Symphony Orchestra became the official affiliate of the Kennedy Center. There is a concert season there annually that is hosted by the orchestra. The National Symphony Orchestra also participates in a variety of national and international events and will perform for various state affairs, such as official holiday celebrations and even the presidential inauguration. There are more than 100 musicians who are members of the National Symphony Orchestra and over a 52-weeks season they perform about 175 concerts each year.
Tickets for the National Symphony Orchestra
