A New Swagger on Stage
Like many young boys growing up in Tennessee, Morgan Wallen had two great loves – music and sports. He grew up playing the piano and violin, as well as baseball. But when an injury diminished his hopes for a future in sports, he began looking more seriously at music. In 2014 he competed on the sixth season of The Voice, choosing to work with Usher. Adam Levine 'stole' Wallen when he lost a battle against fellow contestant Stevie Jo, but Wallen was still eliminated in the playoffs leading up to the live shows. However, his time on the show had given him the extra push he needed. In 2016 he landed a record label and released his first EP, The Way I Talk. He also co-wrote a song with A Thousand Horses and toured with Florida Georgia Line. The band was so impressed with the young artist that they collaborated with him on "Up Down," a single for his debut album. Morgan Wallen released If I Know Me in 2018, the record landing at No. 11 on the Billboard Country Albums chart.
