For home games, they are found at Folsom Field in Boulder CO with their fans covered in silver, black, and gold.
Colorado Buffaloes have been entertaining their fans since 1890. With close to thirty appearances in bowl games and over twenty conference championships, their legacy as a team has been successful compared to many of their rivals. In 1990, the Colorado Buffaloes experienced their first national championship win, which gave them validation for their wins leading up to that point. This did not slow them down, as they continued to play through the following seasons. Bill McCartney lead the team to many of their successes while acting as head coach and inducted into the Orange Bowl Hall of Fame.
Their leading rival is the Nebraska Cornhuskers, in which they play annually since the origin of the two football teams. Each annual game is played at alternating fields between Nebraska and Colorado. This rivalry is not based in the conference but in territory for bragging rights among the fans. Once Colorado State developed a football team, a state rivalry has existed between the Colorado Buffaloes and the Colorado State Rams. The location of the two schools is unique, with them being less than fifty miles apart. Because of their locations and the rivalry, purchasing cheap Colorado Buffaloes football tickets for this game is a must while in Colorado.
