Incredible views, excellent service and great accommodations and amenities for a reasonable price! First of all, our host, Richard, was there to greet us with a warm welcome when we came in on our first day in town. He was very responsive, friendly and helpful the whole time we were there. On the day before our departure, he helped us organize necessary preparations including taxi which we really appreciated. Room was very clean, nicely decorated and spacious with a balcony which had an incredible view of the Matterhorn! There is also a kitchen equipped with necessities which we used to cook our yummy leftovers from dining out. Easy public transportation (free bus) into town but you can just easily walk there as well. There's a dining room where we had a nice breakfast. There's also a game room for fun and relaxation and having the laundry room was very convenient. We loved staying here and felt like it was our home away from home after a day of skiing, shopping and dining. We will definitely stay here again when we visit next! Highly recommend!!! Thanks for everything, Richard!

Perfect Apartments & Amazing Host Richard!

Richard made our stay at the Artist Apartments AMAZING! We loved every detail from the accommodation, to the common areas, to the wonderful raclette/fondue evening on Tuesday nights. We also had an incredible view of the beautiful Matterhorn! These apartments are walkable to everything including shopping, restaurants, and ski lifts. When we go back to Zermatt, we'll absolutely be staying here again!

Incredible stay at the Artist Apartments

6 nights in Zermatt. Richard picks you up at the train station. The apt is incredible. The view of the Matterhorn could not have been better. We spent hours sitting on the balcony looking at the view. The apt was spotless, roomy and comfortable for 4. Richard was very helpful and accessible . Great location to start your hikes everyday. The youth hostel is next door, but nothing a pair of ear plugs can’t handle. I would go back to the Artist Apts in a second, and recommend them to all!!!

Fantastic views of the Matterhorn

The apartments were lovely and contained everything you might need. Richard is an amazing host, absolutely nothing was too much trouble, indeed he went out of his way to make our stay fabulous. His local knowledge is worth its weight in gold. We would definitely recommend a stay.

Richard was an amazingly delightful and incredibly friendly host. He was able to assist us with all our queries. The self-contained apartment was clean, warm and met our requirements. We were 10 minutes walk from the village and a stone's throw away from the shuttle bus. We would highly recomend Richard's world-class fondue and morning breakfasts.

Fabulous view of the Matterhorn and nighttime star

Loved Richard's apartment with the skylight windows. Fantastic view of the night sky and Matterhorn. Comfortable apartment with everything you could need. Richard even picked us up from the train station for our late arrival and back for our early departure. Highly recommend!

WE decided to book this apartment for 4 days in Zermatt instead of a hotel room and we are so happy we did.Loved the location (short walk to town) and since Zermatt is small you can easily get to everything.After having spent 13 nights in hotel rooms in other towns during our vacation coming here were you have a kitchen was a treat for us.Room had incredible views of the Matterhorn. The owner Richard was so accommodating to us and would pick you up and take you back to train station after your stay. VERY pleased with this Chalet.Felt so comfortable at this location.

Good Choice in Zermatt

The gentlemen who runs the Artist apartments and hotel is extremely helpful and kind. The rooms are large by european standards, well appointed and comfortable. He'll send an e-mail out a few days ahead, make sure you read it. Mine went to my spam folder so we ended up walking our bags to the hotel, which wasn't fun, when he was looking for us at the train station.

Great apartment stay in Zermatt

Great stay! It is a little hike from town, all uphill, so be prepared. If you email a Richard which train you are arriving on, he will gladly meet you with his vehicle, which is awesome. I would not want to hike up the hill with luggage. Likewise, he will take you back to the station on your departure day. We easily walked to all the cable cars & trains from here. Richard was a huge help giving us ideas on what to do and helped us save a ton of $$. Would definitely stay here again!

Richard was fantastic! He tended to our questions and was extremely pleasant and helpful during our stay. His hospitality was tremendous! Definitely will be coming back here during our next visit to Zermatt!

We stayed at the hotel for 4 nights, and on arrival in Zermatt we were prepared to walk to hotel from station (around 15 mins), with all our luggage, but had a really thoughtful phone call from the hotel owner Richard, phoning us on the off chance, asking our arrival time, and then kindly offering to pick us up and drive us to hotel. This was a really kind gesture, and he also did the same on our last day, holding our bags for us at the hotel, and dropping them off to us at the train station, letting us explore the town on the final day without our luggage. Our hotel room was perfect for us, amazing views overlooking the Matterhorn from the balcony, and a homely comfortable apartment with all the amenities we needed. Highly recommend this hotel, and would definitely use again if we came back to Zermatt.

Everything was fantastic! The area is peaceful and quiet, but yet near the main street of the town. The room is very clean and of a good size. Richard, the host of the property, is amazing. Very welcoming and is always in high spirits. Would definitely stay there again.

Artist Hotel in Zermatt. Wow what a view!

We had a wonderful stay. It's all about the view of the Matterhorn in Zermatt and the views from the Artist Hotel can't be beat. Our room was old school Swiss style, meaning it has two "Murphy" style single beds positioned inches away from one another, side by side. There was also a comfortable sofa suitable for a child. The kitchenette helps take the sting off Zermatt's high cost of eating out. The walk up to the hotel requires climbing a hill and stairs, so unless Richard, the owner, is willing to shuttle you up, or you plan to take a taxi, reaching the hotel is a good workout.

The proprietor, Richard, made the whole stay worthwhile. The hotel is fine, but he is a local and gave us great recommendations for hikes and lots of information about the town and region. Breakfast was a great offering, too. The room was clean and comfortable, though the bathroom seemed a bit dated. We were only there for a night, but would come back to experience the hospitality again. Try it!

Spacious and comfortable room and awesome host!

We loved our stay here. Richard was so helpful, fun, generous and trustworthy. He really makes a huge impact on the hotel with his upbeat nature and ideas for where to go and what to do. We had the Salvador Dali room with kitchen facilities which was useful so we could eat in most meals. (As eating out is really pricey in Zermatt). The bed was really comfy, rooms quiet, warm and a great pressured shower. The weather wasn't so great for skiing, so Richard gave us ideas for where would be best to hike given the weather predictions. Both hikes were beautiful. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Zermatt.
