I stayed at The Fat Badger as a solo traveler, experiencing York for the first time. I’m so glad I chose this accommodation, not only for its cosy, relaxing atmosphere, but also its modern touches and ideal central location. There is such charm there that one can’t get from a hotel chain. I also found the staff very friendly and always ready to assist. I look forward to my next stay at The Fat Badger.

The secret garden is a great addition, but can get very busy . If staying over get a room on a lower floor , we were on the top floor , 6 flights of creaky stairs . Breakfast was good .

The room was fine, and the breakfast good. It's well situated in the centre of the old city. The only issue for a 79 year old was our room was three floors up with no lift. The staff were very helpful carrying luggage for us.

We were in the attic room. People with any mobility problems would not be able to access this room. Stairs were very steep. Staff were very helpful with luggage etc but access cannot be improved. Food was very good as was the service. Location is excellent.
