Vavasour is part of the main building on the historic, private Red House Estate only 7 miles from York and 14 miles from Harrogate. Seasonal use of a large, shared, outdoor heated swimming pool (Available starting from The End of May to September), grass tennis court and croquet lawn, all open from the end of May to September. Wonderful walks along the River Ouse, just a 45 minute stroll to a choice of eateries in the nearby village of Poppleton.

Vavasour House is clean, comfortable and cosy. Our hosts were most welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The kitchen is well-equipped so we had no problems preparing and cooking our Christmas Day dinner. The beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed taking walks along the nearby river - there are numerous footpaths through the Red House Estate.
