We spent a fabulous week here. Room was clean and provided everything we need. Amenities at the property were endless. We enjoyed the many pools, water slides, natural lagoon and beautiful landscaped grounds. The sunsets here were some of the most beautiful in the world. The only down size of our stay was the sheer size of the resort. It operates on a tram system however it was incredibly unreliable. This required us to walk to most places. There were stroller accessible route but they were much long then non accessible ones. The beauty and amenities provided by this property were wonderful enough to over look this and we would highly recommend it to others looking for a stay on the Big Island

Beautiful room in an idealic Hawaiian resort.This is part of a huge Hilton complex. The studio apartment has an amazing view and was really clean and felt brand new. We were impressed with the staff at the resort and the pools. A couple things to know: the check in for this part of the hotel is at the last stop of the tram when you come in. The hotel shuttle only goes to the restaurants and things within the Waikaolua Beach area, so if you are planning on going anywhere else you will need a rental and pay for parking which is 48/night. You might be able to Uber, but we didn't see many around town... We rented and brought in groceries for breakfast and snacks and it worked out great.Also, the resort has a partnership with Hawaiian Nautical for snorkeling. That was amazing and such a better deal than I could find online.

Our stay at the Ocean Tower was very relaxing. We had a room on the 8th floor overlooking the golf course. The room was very quiet. We were able to take wonderful excursions into the surrounding area and spend the afternoons by the pool again.

We were not given a room with a view that we paid for. Tram was never working until our last day. No boats running. Had to call every morning for maintenance to fix the microwave. Kept fl8ckering and powering off. AC was not working onTram when they finally got it running. It was our 40th anniversary and it was not good. Also an elderly lady neededhelp and we informed employess who told us there was nothing they could do. The grounds and statues were nice

Unreliable Transportation

Unit is approximately 0.55 miles from the parking lot. We are Seniors with limited mobility, the maintenance of the tram was terrible, we had to walk the entire distance daily. Water taxi system ran sparingly, will not stay at this property again and will not recommend to our family and friends.

Very nice place, but hard to get to

The unit is clean and modern. Really, very nice. But I did not realize how hard it would be to get from my car to the unit and back throughout the day. The resort charges 48 to park and then you walk to the resort. The building where your unit is is another half mile away. They have a train/shuttle that can take you to your building, but it was so unreliable that we ended up making that walk a few times a day.
