While the house was cute, our overall experience was disappointing due to the host’s communication and responsiveness.We experienced flooding from the attic that required us to be relocated, the other property had the AC go out 2 days after being relocated. While I understand that unexpected problems can happen with any property, the real issue was the lack of communication and coordination from the host. Another issue, the listing identified the host as “Katie,” and gave her contact info. Yet I never received a single response from her despite multiple calls, texts, and voicemails. Instead, I communicated with someone named Jose from a different number, whose responses were slow, even during urgent situations such as water leaking from the ceiling and the air conditioning failing. When guests experience emergencies like these, prompt communication and a clear plan for resolution are essential, and that was unfortunately lacking throughout our stay.The original property also was unclean upon arrival, with excessive dog hair throughout the home. We even had to purchase a shower curtain and air filter and get reimbursed.To their credit, they did provide compensation for the inconveniences. However, I believe the properties need to be inspected more thoroughly, and the host should be better at communicating with guests, especially when urgent issues arise.Overall, they made right w/ us. But don’t plan on hearing from Katie at all. You’ll be talking to Jose.
