A cozy older hotel that was clean, quiet and comfortable. The wing back chairs were a treat to sit in, as most hotels have uncomfortable cheap seating in the room if there is any at all. I felt the price was a bit much, but it was close to Buchart Gardens where we were headed.

Hostess Jennifer at the front desk’s customer service skills is simply unparalleled. This hotel’s architecture is unique and cozy and your pet is welcome. There is ample parking, and a short walk to public ocean access to a 17km walking trail if you wish. The attached pub and grill’s food is delicious. The bedding is literally perfect. If you want to be comfortable and travel with your dog and want to be well taken care of this hotel offers exceptional service and quality

I love staying at the Waddling Dog. Loads of character and old English charm. Great onsite pub. Lovely breakfast available in the library. Conveniently located close to ferries, Butchart Gardens, and (my favourite) the Saanich Fair!

The Waddling Dog is a very charming inn. The location is perfect- close to the airport and centrally located between Sidney and Victoria. The inn is clean, staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast provides a variety of hot & cold offerings. Food is very fresh. We would definitely stay at this location again.

I loved my stay here. The property was beautiful and you can tell they put effort in the smallest detail. Our room was clean and well air-conditioned. The hotel staff working the front desk were AMAZING. Super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was complimentary and they had a nice selection. The only uncomfortable moment was the woman working to maintain the breakfast area. She was rude to the gentleman working in the kitchen (my assumption). She then proceeded to be rude to myself and other guests making us feel like an inconvenience. BUT! With that being said it was truly worth the stay and I would book again.

The staff were great. The hotel itself is overpriced for a basic hotel, the breakfast was cold. It’s a great location for the airport or ferry and I think that’s why the price is so high. The attached restaurant is convenient, good but not great and also a little pricey compared to others we ate at on Vancouver island. A shuttle to the airport would have be an appreciated inclusion.
