Despite having several conversations with the hotel staff leading up to our stay, we were informed there was a strike impacting the hotel - no housekeeping, no restaurant - hours before our stay. The strike had been going on for a month. We chose this hotel over staying with family/friends as we were running the RVM marathon and preferred ease. Choosing not to tell us was unacceptable. If the strike had started that day it would have been understandable. They did discount the room 30%, but clearly waited until after cancellation was possible to update us on the situation. We are very disappointed and angry. By the end of three days we had tons of garbage and recycling, no towels or coffee, and the parking was insecure. The halls were lined with other room’s garbage as clearly they had overflowed as well.

Our stay at this hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was lovely and accommodating, property and hotel is incredibly clean, the views are out of this world gorgeous and its proximity to everything and walkability is fantastic. I will stay here again.

The hotel was very nice, well located, and we were warmly welcome by the employees. Travelling from the opposite end of the country, we didn’t know that an important marathon was taking place on October 12. It was very disapointing for us to pay more than $500 at the Coast Victoria, but had to leave at 6:45 am (instead of the expected check-out time of 11:00 am), because the roads would close for the marathon. We didn’t want to miss our flight back and be stocked with the rental car at your hotel, and therefore needed to leave at 6:45, before the roads closures. It was very expensive for the short amount of time we spent there…

Friendly staff, breakfast included and walkable distance to coffee and thrifty. Short distance to drive to the parliament and downtown. I was there when their staff were on strike but I still got a really good service and was offered an additional free parking for our stay in their underground parking.
