BEWARE BUGS IN THE ROOM
I’m not one to leave a negative review but fellow travellers should be aware. Starting off with the positive, the 2 front desk employees we interacted with (Mark and Ron) were kind and attentive. Also the hotel is in a great walkable area.
The negatives - substantially-sized stains on the carpeted floor in the room, parking is a couple blocks away, bathroom “door” was a sliding glass door that doesn’t lock, bathroom does not have a fan for ventilation, and there were BUGS in the room. Mercifully we didn’t find any in the beds, but there was definitely a fear we may as they were in both the bedroom and the bathroom.
When we brought this to the attention of the front desk, it became clear this is a regular occurrence as we were told of a group chat amongst employees where they share bug complaints (I also saw our room number added to a list of others that likely brought forward bug issues). The hotel was “fully booked” so we were unable to move to a bug-free room. We were told we would be given a discount on our night stay the evening we brought the bug complaint forward. The following morning however, this discount ultimately came in the form of free parking (18 dollar value). Considering we were charged 360 dollars for a single night stay, this is unacceptable.
Again, staff were friendly and the location is very central and walkable, we were just disappointed as it felt as though our complaints about the bugs in the room fell on deaf ears.
