This apartment was a disaster! Upon arrival, a girl from the management company met us and misled us multiple times. First, she gave us a key to the front door, but then pressed a button up on the door frame and said that the door unlocks in about 5 seconds...NO KEY NEEDED! I thought it was odd (AND UNSAFE!), but not having seen that before, I hoped noone else knew that "trick" and we would be safe. Inside the front door was a terrible dirty storage area to walk through to go up a staircase to our apartment door. Ours was the only apartment accessible from the front door, and I asked if anyone else had access to the downstairs area. She told us definitely not...ONLY we had access. When we got up the stairs, the door/lock to the apartment was damaged (you could see light/space around it), but since she said noone could access the downstairs area, we felt better. Once inside the apartment, it was filthy and in MUCH need of a cleaning, new furniture...an overall gut job rehab!! The girl from the company left very quick after saying she was ALWAYS available by text.We were only in Venice for two nights, had never been there before, and weren't sure what to do. We tried calling VRBO but couldn't get through. The shower didn't drain, so we couldn't shower. It was very loud all night long. And our second night there, a strange man came into the downstairs 4 times until we told him to leave. Management did nothing...we didn't sleep...very unsafe...stay away!! Out a lot of money!!
