As an economy option the YWCA hotel is fantastic. So clean, so safe, smoke free, staff friendly and competent, environmentally responsible (even the room key cards are made of wood). Plus the place has a mission you are contributing to by staying—programs for women and families. I had a room without a private bathroom (it had a sink), but the shared bathroom was squeaky clean and available. Thumbs up.

Wonderful people, budget, and eco-friendly hotel

If you’re looking for a budget friendly stay in downtown Vancouver this is it. No frills but everything you need. Safe, clean, friendly, convenient. The staff is super nice, the rooms and bathrooms are clean, and the shared amenities are plentiful. The rooms all have recycle and compost options (a big plus for me) and the shared kitchen space is large and clean. A people and eco friendly hotel with a mission to help others. Rooftop “space for Grace” is beautiful. Will definitely stay again.
