Although we checked in 2 hours later (unrelated to the hotel) room was still not ready, had the shower drain left out with a bunch of hair attached to it. They “upgraded” our room to the same exact room but a different floor, then the phone in the room did not work due to “wiring” issues. My one night stay was not ideal. The hotel gave us a gift card to the hotel restaurant to resolve the issue but that does not justify the sanitary negligence and lack of maintenance or care to check things before the guest arrives. Lack of adequate care for a 4.5 star hotel.

I stayed in the grand residence ate of the hotel. It was basically a one bedroom apartment with full kitchen. Very convenient home base for exploring Vancouver. Staff was very friendly and the gym, change room and pool were very nice.

The room was really comfortable and clean, the staff went above and beyond and were always very polite and friendly. However, the juxtaposition of the hotel and the pool was quite jarring and disappointing. It was like a long forgotten room that felt outdated and dirty. The hot tub water smelled and the pool was very cold. No one stayed long after arriving and neither did we. The google casting in the room rarely worked and they had a hot water issue on one of the days but it thankfully was resolved that day.
