"The property neglected to let us know that due to recent heavy rainfall, both dirt roads leading to the property were unsafe and filled with water, almost a foot deep. We barely made it to the property, almost getting stuck in mud a couple of times on the way there. When we finally arrived and checked in, we were told there were no food options on site. So we had to get back in our car, brave the roads again, in search of food in the nearby town. Unfortunately, the road between the property and the town was in even worse condition than the road we had taken to get to the hotel. And on our way out to the paved main road, we hit a large deep pothole that knocked the cover underneath our rental car. It was dragging on the cement once we got onto the paved road. At this point we knew we could not safely return to the hotel. Luckily, we had not yet unpacked our belongings into our room. So, we tried contacting the hotel to let them know we were going to have to bail on our room that night, but we couldn't get a hold of anyone. I think everyone working at the hotel had left the property by 5pm, and only the security guard remained. We ended up looking for a hotel in the nearby town that night and tried reaching out to Campera the next day. After several messages via WhatsApp, the hotel ultimately blamed the unfortunate situation on the municipality and refused to give us a refund for our unused trip. They clearly prioritized getting our money over their guests' safety. "
