The good: it was a VERY good price and located close to Marimba park with many food options nearby. Staff were friendly and helpful. The bad: there was a smoke alarm - low battery alarm going off every 10 seconds that was very annoying and went unfixed even after being advised. How hard is it to change a battery?

A solid three star hotel experience, walkable to Marimba Plaza, which is very active and fun at night. Short cab ride to the ADO bus terminal. Tuxtla centro is not a tourist area. People are friendly enough, but the town is loud, dirty and smoggy. Hotel Madrid is a solid oasis, and with the a/c on, even the traffic sounds are drowned out.

The room was fine, minimal amenities, (soap). Staff were courteous. The AC worked fine but the fan made a lot of noise. There were no lights on the 3rd floor, we did find our room. In the morning we discovered a light switch. There was NO hot water, at all. Made me wonder if they were following the Mexican "motel" model - LOL The restaurant advertised was closed like permanent!

La puerta de la regadera no cerraba estaba súper dura para abrir y cerrar y el toallero estaba oxidado. Lo bueno es que esta en una excelente ubicación, no hay ruidos y la habitación esta muy limpia.
