Third time staying here and still an amazing resort but couldn’t help to notice they are slowly losing their personal touches that made it so special. 1st time was in 2023 and met with smiling faces, valet parking, gift package in the room. 2nd time 2024 all the same with a nice gift bag with sun screen, aloe and bug spray. 3rd time 2025, no valet, no gift bag, friendliest was dwindling and when asked for my car, they gave me my keys and said it’s in the dirt parking lot out back and I can get it myself. 5 star resort is going downhill…

I don’t ever write reviews but I thought my 4 day stay at Shibari deserved one. The hotel is basically a giant compound in an already very safe area of tulum. They have a massive gate in the front that only hotel guests are allowed to enter through. If you are not staying at the hotel, you can’t just wander on through like you can at some others located on the beach. The hotel is also right next to a police station which makes you feel even more comfortable. The area itself is very well lit at night and surrounded by many beach clubs and restaurants. Everything you need is within a 5-10 minute walk. Aside from the location of the hotel, the hospitality was off the charts from the beginning! My only complaint is they had construction for two straight days in the hotel. Not ideal waking up to a chainsaw at 8:30AM or hearing it during yoga or listening to guys work late in the evening at the restaurant. There’s never an ideal time for construction but I feel there were better times for it. Overall, the hotel was gorgeous and well kept all around. Perfect location if you want a relaxing cenote vibe while still close to the party zone and beaches. I will miss watching the sunset over the Mexican jungle…Thank you Shibari.

Property was at probably half capacity and staff gave me a room next to a construction site. Workers hammering , making massive noise , cutting wood, etc at 8am on a weekend. We went to bed at 5am, so go figure. Poor criteria and decision making by staff

Shibari is a top notch resort. Not your typical all inclusive. Very quiet, friendly staff, amazing rooms, top notch restaurant, the cenote inside is a great feature. I highly recommend this place for couples.

Drinks and staff were great. Didn’t get to experience swim up bar as pool/hottub was surprisingly closed for construction (no notice) and the cenote was shut down which was a real bummer - wish warnings or heads up were given.

The spa was pricey for the limited time. The drinks were great. The cenote was great and beautiful just to many mosquitoes. And small gym. The other thing was the wet bar no one said the wet bar in the wasn’t free or you had to pay until you get your bill. And the upgrade for 3 days was the same price for 7 days. So to many non-disclosed information so I wouldn’t go back there.

When I booked it did not realize it was more of a romantic room. I was traveling with my girl friend and it was a bit awkward since her and I are friends best friends. It would have been nice if you also cater to non couples specially the rooms . The shower was a bit much out in the open with a friend. I had food poisoning and I have to say Rene took good care of me. Very knowledgeable and he knew what he was doing so I would not be unconscious. Grateful he was onsite. Grateful also for my friend taken care of me.
