Nightmare experience. Booked 13 nights 3 months in advance to attend a camp for our daughter (IYKYK). Received multiple confirmations and check-in info on the day of arrival. Arrived at the home at 10pm after a long road trip and there were people occupying the property. Confused, we messaged the host and got no response. Getting more nervous, we called the host and he claimed that VRBO didn’t communicate that he had a reservation and that he’d call us back. My family is now sitting in a church parking lot in the middle of the night awaiting a reply. Finally, another guy calls me and says the host on the listing- whom I spoke to earlier- took our money, SOLD the property and didn’t tell the new owner he had a reservation. The new host rented it to someone else and there was nothing he could do. We had to get a hotel for the night and were on our own to get a refund and find a new place during a time when everything close-by was booked. Stay away from this house and any other from these hosts - they are shady and caused so much stress for my family. Proof you should never trust them with your vacation.
