There is not an elevator so we had to carry our heavy luggage up the stairs by ourselves. The lighting outside is limited and very unsafe feeling. The whole buiding spelt off. On the last day we noticed there is mold all in the AC unit. I am home and sick now, coughing, stuffy nose, sore throat. I have pictures of the mold we took.

At the particular location of Monteagle this hotel was one of the only places to stay. The bed was comfortable and the location served its puprose for a volleyball tournament all weekend at Sewanee college - the only issue was that the room was very musty and the smell of many years of cigarette smoking in the room could still be detected. We were on the ground floor so perhaps it smelled musty and damp on just the ground floor??

Comfortable bed. Stayed here same time last year as part of a back to college trip. Walked down the same restaurant for dinner too! Appreciated the cooler mountain air!

Everything was great … however, the property was listed as being on Pelham, TN. We drove to Pelham and had to turn around and go back to Monteagle. We should have set our Mapquest specifically to the hotel.

The suite room was nice. We first had a basic room. The AC was making the carpet wet, and it had a pungent odor and damp in the room. We asked for another room. The second room was worse, and the suite was the last option and was fine and so they gave it to us for no extra charge. I think they were down to the last rooms at check in, and they might save the ones with the AC problems to the last that check in. Get there early and you'll probably be fine. Hopefully they fix the AC units, as there aren't many options in this area.

Smelled terrible in the hallway, the room smelled just as bad. They had spray some sort of deordorizer in the room that settled on the floor which made it feel damp and sticky. Do not recommend if you have a sensitive nose.

Great staff!!! From check in to check out, we had nothing but smiles and courtesy. They were quick, professional and went above and beyond. The bed was very comfortable! This will definitely be our "go to" while in this area. Job well done!

Hotel was nice and clean. Staff could’ve been a little more friendly. Saying good morning never hurt nobody but I’m from up north so maybe that’s how they are down south. Breakfast was ok. Could’ve been another meat selection instead of sausage links and sausage patties. The bed was nice and comfy. Plenty of space for me and my husband.
