⭐ 1 Star – Worst Hotel Experience of My Life
My experience at Courtyard by Marriott (booked via Expedia) was nothing short of mental distress. I traveled from Vancouver to Toronto with my family for a vacation, and this hotel completely ruined our first night.
We checked in around 1 AM at midnight after a long day of travel, only to be given a completely unhygienic and unsafe room. The mattress was full of dust, spider webs were all over, and the entire room felt like it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. For a hotel under the Marriott brand, this was absolutely shocking and unacceptable.
When I asked the front desk to either change the room or clean it immediately, the response was unimaginable. The staff member coldly told me that no rooms were available and actually suggested that I should check out and request a refund from the third party (Expedia)—in the middle of the night, with my exhausted family. This is not only unprofessional but inhumane customer service.
I booked this hotel trusting the Marriott name, but this experience has left me with severe disappointment and distress. The lack of cleanliness, the disregard for guest safety, and the completely indifferent attitude from staff made this stay unforgettable for all the wrong reasons.
I would strongly advise anyone considering this hotel to think twice before booking. If this is the level of service and hygiene they provide, it is not worth the risk—especially if you’re traveling with family.
