The property itself is gorgeous — right on the ocean with walking trails and incredible views. The staff were warm and friendly, and the setting really can’t be beat. The rooms feel quite dated, likely around 40 years old with little sign of renovation. Things like slatted shutters between the bedroom and bathroom (not ideal for privacy). The patio was lovely but would really benefit from a propane fire pit so guests can enjoy it during cooler evenings. Cleanliness could have been a bit better as we found a little bit of dust and cobwebs, but nothing major and everything else was clean. The bed was quite firm for my preference (my wife found it fine), and I woke up with a stiff back each morning. I asked about a mattress topper but never heard back. While it covered the bases and was well stocked, the breakfast was pretty basic and uninspiring. Service was hit and miss, likely due to being short-staffed. Service was lacking due to short staffing. To top it all off, check-in was not great as the staff weren’t sure if they could accept our gift certificate because we booked through Expedia even though I’d noted it in our booking. They did end up honoring it, but it adds unnecessary stress. Overall, Middle Beach Lodge has a wonderful setting and kind people, but for the price, the rooms need renovations and more effort is needed to make sure they are not short staffed.

My wife and I stayed there about 25 years ago, and came back with pur son. Had a king suite at the Beaches. Amazing view of the water. The main lodge was great to hang out for a glass of wine and play board games. Love this resort!

We loved our stay in the triplex cabin. It was cozy and had a kitchenette so we could make our lunches and have a dinner in if we wanted. The ocean view through the trees, and the Adirondack chairs on the porch were wonderful. One of the two lodges was very nearby for breakfast and an afternoon hot chocolate.

A beautiful and peaceful lodge. Loved hearing the ocean waves and enjoyed the home like feeling it provided. The breakfast was a lovely edition and was a great opportunity to interact with other guests.

Loved the balcony, view and chairs. Breakfast was fabulous. Chocolate chip cookies in the evening was a genuine treat. The room was quaint and clean. Didn’t even miss the TV or phone. Did miss a fridge in the room but ice was available at the front desk. No elevator gave us a bit of concern moving our luggage up and down the stairs. We would ask for a ground level room if we return. Staff were very helpful.

Middle Beach lodge is a nice property. The marketing is better than the actual experience and whilst it is perfectly fine, some of the rooms and fixtures it could do with an update. The breakfast is OK, but I can't understand why there is no Espresso coffee anywhere on the resort? The Mackenzie beach resort cafe, next door, is literally eating your lunch at the moment.

We were welcomed and given our unique key. Loved how fishing was included in items at the lodge. Comfortable cozy room, and glad we chose an ocean view. WiFi was poor. We had dinner at the second building, they were able to create an amazing gluten free dinner as well. Lovely sunsets. Lovely place to unwind from a busy life.

Relaxation in Tofino

I love staying at Middle Beach Lodge! The location is wonderful right between MacKenzie and Middle beaches - the road leading to the lodge used to be terrible, but it's since been completely paved. Rooms are cozy, clean, comfy, and give a real "lodge" feel. Staff is helpful, service is good, breakfast is tasty, the grounds are beautiful and peaceful... I always have a wonderful time when I stay here and highly recommend it if you're looking for a rustic (but very comfortable) and relaxing experience.
